About Us

Guildford City Cricket Club was formed in 1947 by the supporters of Guildford City Football Club. The Guildford City Social Club is still at its original setting in Joseph Road and has been the base for the cricket club for many years.

We run 2 teams in the Fullers Surrey County League and 1 team in the Wey Valley League on a Saturday. On Sunday we run one Surrey Trust Development team. We are also very committed in developing youth cricket and have an U9's, U11's, U13, U15 & U17 sides playing in competitive matches this season.

The club had good times during the 70's winning the Flora Dora Trophy and winning the Wey Valley League Championship. The club has had a lean spell during the 80's and 90's, being relegated twice and winning division 2 of Wey Valley once.

The last 7 years the club has had a resurgence of success on & off the field. With a hard working commitee and an influx of new playing staff, the club has gone forward in leaps and bounds. Example of the success we have achieved in the last 7 yrs:

  • 3 Wey Valley Championship wins
  • 1 Kookaboro Div 3 Championship Win,1xKookaboro Div2 Winners
  • 1x Admiral Dunlop Cup Winners
  • 1x Flora Dora Cup Semi-Finalists, 1x Flora Dora cup Finalists
  • 1x 1/4 Final of Kookaboro League Cup (Competition abandoned at this stage) 1xSemi-Finalists Kookaboro League Cup
